"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls".... Pablo Picasso
I have always had an appreciation for art and artists and have been incredibly fortunate to learn about art & collecting from my uncle, Frank Oppedisano. Frank spent his entire career at General Electric working directly for Jack Welch - not only as the corporate head of Human Resources but also as a trusted advisor on acquiring fine art for GE's corporate collection. Frank understood that fine art can transform a cold and unimaginative workplace into an environment that motivates, inspires, and increases creativity and productivity in employees.

Inevitably, he became inspired by his surroundings and over the years built his own personal collection of fine art. While most works remain within his personal collection, my uncle has donated select pieces - such as a Frank Stella that he gifted to the McMullen Museum of Art at his alma mater (and mine), Boston College, which was recognized by the Boston Globe as one of the most significant art gifts at the time.

I am grateful to be a recipient of his generosity and honored to have several of his pieces in my own collection. My appreciation for art runs deep, especially when I notice new details in a painting that I hadn’t seen before. This exploration enhances my admiration for the artist, and as I develop a clearer understanding of space, color, and dimension, I often find it inspires innovative solutions to client needs or creative ways to represent candidates who don’t fit traditional molds. A quality piece of fine art has the power to spark creativity, and I’m excited to share that experience with others.

In my recruiting work, I’ve encountered the art collections of many law firms and corporate clients, which they use to enrich their work environments. This inspired us to establish a subsidiary service that brokers the purchase and sale of art while also presenting professional talent to enhance their businesses.

Having spent considerable time on the southern coast of Maine — a region renowned for its breathtaking light and stunning landscapes — I’ve had the privilege of meeting and developing relationships with many talented local painters, sculptors, and photographers. They are a diverse group, working in a variety of media and subject matter. I invite you to explore their representative works on our Facebook Page, and I trust you’ll discover pieces that resonate with you, inspire you, and transform your perspective on life and work.

Cheers,
Michael
